What is Affinitysm?
Affinitysm is faith comprised. By comprised we adhere to Jesus of TODAY, though not driven as a sole entity. Our interpretation of the Bible does not correlate with the idealism carried forth by most other Christian based faiths. We believe in 21st century Jesus as well as the phenomenal energies of the Universe.
Man wrote the Bible as we know, and although it consists of 4 Gospels, hundreds of others were written that did not make it to the pages of the sacred book. We are aware also that throughout the course of history, certain passages have been modified or deleted. So how does one legitimately determine what is fact and what is fiction.
Having said that, we know for certain that there was once a man named Jesus. A humble man born in the ancient city of Bethlehem, who roamed the deserts and valleys healing the sick while providing for the poor. But there is so much of the Bible that is questionable.
Affinitysm is not judgmental. “Be Who You Are, In Mind, Body And Soul”.
The pinnacle of our belief lies with how we imagine Jesus would view the world today. We feel, that if Jesus were alive today he would be accepting of humankind as a single entity. Acceptance without sexism and egotism, without being judged, bullied or slain because of the color of our skin. Jesus would not turn his back on those who are physically or mentally challenged, nor hold hatred in his heart for the homosexual community. Jesus, our Jesus represents love.
To be an Affinityst, you are essentially an open-minded individual who does not discriminate. You believe in meditation to calm the mind, spirit and body, karma, universal energies, positive thinking as a form of not only happiness, but also attraction, spiritual growth, love and harmony, a belief in Jesus though does not take the Bible verbatim. Supports diversity & equality, and whose needs take preference over wants, and your Love, loves all.
In John 13:34-35 Jesus states “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. (35) By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”
If you do not love one another, as many so-called Christians fail to abide by, then you cannot call yourself a disciple of Jesus. If you relish in useless luxuries and idolatry while others around you beg for food or basic necessities for life, then your Christian claim is tarnished, for this is not the way of Jesus. This IS the way of Affinitysm.
One of the most controversial topics as far as a stance on religion is homosexuality and we feel that the Bible has long been misinterpreted with reference to homosexuality.
When referring to homosexuality in the Bible, there are actually only seven passages out of 31,173 that directly mention homosexuality. Some of which are even questionable when referring to the behavior itself! There are far more severe “sins” mentioned within the Bible, such as divorce and adultery. All of the teachings in the Bible concerning marriage refer to marriage between a man and a woman, however, there are other precedents that lead us to believe that Jesus did not condemn homosexuality, so We cannot assume in today’s modern society that Jesus would condemn it today. Remember Jesus was a man filled with love for his fellow man. Some Christians today, conveniently select passages from the Bible which they have determined anti-gay and spread their hate based on a “religious belief” that could well be fictitious or the very least misconstrued.
If you believe in Jesus, as we do, and you believe that he was a healer and a good person who loved his disciples regardless, then surely you believe that he accepted ALL of mankind.
Affinitysm is “open belief and open expression”.
Life is a journey. One of trials and tribulations, and it is through these often quite painful challenges, that we muster the strength to go on. We need to remember however, to learn and grow from such challenges. We must question why… and truly examine the challenge that we have been face with, for often the answer is there.
Meditation is a big part of Affinitsym because not only does it clear the mind and and open windows of clarity, but can also heighten your spiritual experience.

Affinitysm is a contemporary universal principle based around LOVE, Truth and all that is good. Whether you currently participate in a popular faith or take an independent course, whether you trust in divine creation or cling to stern physical objectivity, your notions about truth define the overall context of your life.
Your spiritual growth is a built-in part of the process of human development. Truth, affection, and power don’t prescribe a certain spiritual doctrine, so there’s lots of freedom to research a mixture of beliefs should you so choose. If your beliefs don’t fulfill the necessities of your personal being at the very least, then they can’t be spiritually rewarding. If a spiritual doctrine yields to untruth in your eyes, and disconnects you from life, or if it breaks you, it infringes on the very purpose and will only lead you astray. So with this in mind, Affinitysm unveils itself to cater to YOU, and not the other way around.
How do we feel about Islam, Judaism, Catholicism and other religions?
We feel that everyone has the right to choose. Whether you pray to Allah, the Virgin Mary, Buddha, etc… Whomever your God, and whoever you pray to is personal to you. Whether it was chosen for, or by you. As long as you are being fulfilled, and your belief is strong you will be on the right path.
How do you feel about war? We do not approve of war of any nature.
Some of us are vegetarians or vegans because we prefer to eat healthy, and feel that animals have a right to love just as we do. You can learn more at www.SwankyVegan.com
